OFC 79 rollable ribbon bundling line
Compact rollable ribbon bundling for high-density datacom cables.
As datacenter architectures scale and bandwidth demand continues to grow, cable designs must carry higher fiber counts in smaller, more manageable structures. Rollable ribbons help create this density, but before they can be stranded or jacketed, they need to be grouped into stable, organized bundles.
Rollable ribbon bundling turns individual rollable ribbons into compact, cable-ready bundles for high-density datacom and datacenter interconnect (DCI) cable designs. This step supports efficient downstream processing, better cable organization, and optimized fiber density in the final cable.
OFC 79 Rollable Ribbon Bundling Line is designed for efficient bundling of rollable ribbons before stranding or jacketing. With helical bundling, zero-tension binding, single or dual yarn bundle identification, and up to 36 ribbon reel positions, OFC 79 helps manufacturers create structured rollable ribbon bundles for high-fiber-count datacom and DCI cable production.

compact ribbon bundling
OFC 79 groups rollable ribbons into compact, cable-ready bundles for high-density datacom and DCI cable production.
zero-tension binding
Zero-tension binding supports gentle ribbon handling and stable bundle quality during production.
bundle capacity
OFC 79 supports up to 36 ribbon reel positions for compact, high-fiber-count bundle designs.
bundling of rollable ribbons
From rollable ribbons to cable-ready bundles
OFC 79 is the next step after rollable ribbon production. It groups individual rollable ribbons into compact bundles that can be used in high-density telecom, datacom, and datacenter interconnect cable designs. This supports higher fiber density while keeping the cable structure organized for downstream processing.
Helical or longitudinal bundling
The line can support helical or longitudinally stranded / binded ribbon bundles, depending on the required cable concept. This gives manufacturers flexibility to create the bundle structure needed for different high-fiber-count cable designs.
Controlled bundling and identification
OFC 79 supports rollable ribbon bundling with zero-tension binding and single or dual yarn bundle identification. This helps create compact, clearly organized ribbon bundles for efficient downstream SZ super-bundling, jacketing, and high-density datacenter interconnect cable production.

High-fiber-count bundle capability
The line supports up to 36 ribbon reel positions, making it suitable for compact, high-fiber-count bundle designs. The ribbon cable manufacturing material also shows OFC 79 bundling examples with up to 288 fibers per bundle and up to 864 fibers per bundle, depending on ribbon and bundle construction.
Ready for DCI cable production
After OFC 79 bundling, the next process step can be direct jacketing with OFC 60 or combining several bundles through OFC 70 SZ-stranding / SZ super-bundling before final jacketing. This makes OFC 79 a key link in the high-density cable chain from rollable ribbon production to finished datacenter interconnect cables.
