Stable lay length, low stranding tension fluctuation, and constant binding tension are essential for repeatable cable structure and reliable product quality.
SZ stranding creates the organized cable structure needed for indoor, outdoor, and high-density fiber optic cable designs. The process must also support long production runs, fast set-ups, and flexible cable constructions.
OFC 70 SZ-Stranding Line is designed for SZ stranding of tubes containing fibers or ribbons for a wide range of fiber optic cable applications. With DTSZ stranding technology, advanced line control, and precise binding, the line supports stable lay length, constant binding tension, and low stranding tension fluctuation for reliable cable quality.
The line supports dry and jelly-filled cable constructions and can operate as a stand-alone stranding process or in tandem with jacketing process. In addition to standard SZ stranding, OFC 70 can also be configured for SZ super-bundling of rollable ribbon bundles for high-density datacom cable designs.

OFC 70 uses DTSZ stranding technology to create a controlled SZ stranding process for tubes, ribbons, and cable elements. The torsion shaft lay-plate stranding concept, dual cross binders, and line control system work together to support stable, repeatable stranding quality.
Stable lay length and low tension fluctuation
The stranding process is designed to maintain low stranding tension fluctuation and accurate, stable lay length throughout production. This helps manufacturers create consistent cable structures and reliable product quality across different cable designs and long production runs.
Constant binding tension
OFC 70 supports stable binding with closed loop tension control. The binding point is positioned directly after the SZ strander, allowing immediate fixation of the stranded elements and supporting high-quality stranding and binding.
Productivity for long production runs
High production speeds, long batches, reduced set-up times, and less downtime help increase the productivity of the SZ stranding process. Features such as easy-to-thread pay-offs, cop storage in binders, dual yarn binding, recipes, data logging, and line control support efficient operation and repeatable production.
SZ super-bundling for high-density datacom cables
OFC 70 can also be configured for SZ super-bundling of rollable ribbon bundles. This process combines rollable ribbon bundles into structured super bundles for ultra-high-fiber-count datacom and datacenter interconnect cable designs. The controlled stranding process helps create a balanced, well-organized cable structure for reliable high-capacity connections.
