Central tube and high-count ribbon cable designs

OFC 45 is designed for rollable and flat ribbon tube production used in central tube ribbon cables and high-count loose tube ribbon cable designs. Typical applications include gel-filled and gel-free central tube ribbon cables, as well as high-count loose tube ribbon cable constructions.

RST ribbon handling

The Ribbon Strander RST 300 supports controlled ribbon handling before tube extrusion. Motor-driven, tension-controlled ribbon pay-offs help maintain accurate ribbon tension, reduce centrifugal forces, support easy thread-up, and enable synchronized master/slave operation for stable production.

ROEX tube extrusion

OFC 45 uses ROEX extrusion to form the ribbon tube. The extrusion system supports stable output, operation-friendly adjustment, customized screw design, and reliable processing of materials such as PBTP, PVC, PE, HFFR, and PA12.

Dry and jelly-filled ribbon tubes

OFC 45 can produce jelly-filled or totally dry ribbon tubes. For jelly-filled tubes, the JFS 100 Jelly Filling System supports continuous filling, jelly hose heating, jelly recycling, and controlled filling conditions. For dry tubes, the VCU 30 Vacuum Calibration Unit supports stable and accurate tube dimensions with NTA 1000 applied swellable tape to prevent water penetration.

Relaxation cooling and tube stability

After extrusion, the tube must cool in a controlled way to maintain its shape and dimensional stability. The relaxation cooling zone supports low post-shrinkage and helps keep the tube stable without post-retraction. Together with vacuum calibration, tension control, and temperature control, it supports stable tube dimensions, controlled excess length, and repeatable ribbon tube quality.

Line stability and process control

OFC 45 can include modular cooling systems, diameter measurement, lump detection, entry and exit caterpillars, belt capstan, pneumatic dancer, tyre take-up, and LOS or PSU line control. These components support controlled production, stable ribbon tube quality, and reliable line operation.
